Initial evaluation
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will complete initial assessments to identify strengths and areas for concern that may hinder the return-to-duty (RTD) process.
Individualized Treatment Planning
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will formulate an individualized treatment regimen for the return-to-duty (RTD) process.
Substance Abuse Education
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will provide substance abuse education attending mutual recovery-based support groups such as SMART Recovery, Rational Recovery, Women for Sobriety, or Celebrate Recovery groups.
Treatment Referrals
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will provide treatment referrals such as In-patient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, outpatient counseling programs, and continued care.
Consulations
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will provide follow-up consultations as needed throughout the return-to-duty (RTD) process.
Follow-up-evaluation
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will complete a final evaluation to determine if the Driver has successfully complied with the education and treatment recommendations.
